Capacity levy for 2025 published by President of URE

On 1 January 2025, the capacity levy will be reinstated to households’ electricity bills, with the average household customer paying monthly PLN 11.44 excl. VAT.

Results of President of URE’s survey on capacity market operation revealed

The vast majority of participants in the Polish electricity market are in favour of maintaining the operation of the capacity market at least until 2040. At the same time, according to those surveyed, the mechanism should provide greater support for low-carbon technologies and system flexibility in the years to come.

Energy transition: first entity on the list of aggregators maintained by the President of URE

On 9 September, Photon Energy Trading PL Sp. z o.o. from Poznań was the first entity to be entered on the list of aggregators. The company is planning to start the aggregation from 1 December 2024.

Electricity bills: starting from 24 August, households can enter into contracts with dynamic energy pricing. What should consumers know before signing up?

As of 24 August, every electricity supplier serving at least 200 thousand final consumers has been offering a new type of pricing plan addressed to retail consumers, i.e. the dynamic pricing contract. The Energy Regulatory Office explains who is eligible for such an agreement and the underlying conditions: the plan is addressed to consumers who understand the forces at play in the electricity market and have remotely-read meters.
