Gas market: The President of URE has approved the tariff of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa for 2026

The President of URE has approved a new gas distribution tariff for Polska Spółka Gazownictwa for the period from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.

The new tariff provides for an average decrease of approximately 1.7 per cent in distribution charges compared to those effective under the 2025 tariff (excluding coke-oven gas rates).

How will the level of gas bills change from the beginning of 2026?

The new PSG tariff will take effect on 1 January 2026. At the same time, the PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny tariff for gas sales, approved in May 2025, will remain in effect in the first half of next year.

As a result, from 1 January 2026, customers billed under the new PSG tariff and the PGNiG OD tariff, which remains in force, will see a slight decrease in charges compared with the current charges:

  • 0.63 per cent for customers from group W-1.1.;
  • 0.50 per cent for customers from group W-2.1.;
  • 0.50 per cent for customers from group W-3.6.

  • All prices and payment changes quoted by URE are exclusive of VAT.
  • Tariff group W-1.1, in principle, includes customers who use gas for cooking. Group W-2.1 mainly comprises those who use gas for both cooking and heating water. Meanwhile, tariff group W-3.6 includes chiefly customers who consume the largest volumes of gaseous fuel and also use it for home heating.
  • Distribution charge rates, comprising fixed and variable components, vary by location (tariff area).
  • The President of URE approves tariffs for the distribution of gaseous fuels across all customer groups. Tariffs for the sale of natural gas, on the other hand, are approved only for households and customers with vital public service tasks.
  • The President of URE will approve gas sales tariffs for the last time for 2027[1]. However, tariffs for the use of gas infrastructure (storage, transmission, distribution, liquefaction and regasification) will continue to be regulated.
