The President of Energy Regulatory Office (URE) has granted the first promise of a concession for generation of electricity from an offshore wind farm
The offshore farm, with a planned total installed electrical capacity of 1140 MW, belongs to Baltic Power and will be located approximately 22.5 km from the Polish coast at Choczewo and Łeba, within the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea.
The country’s first promise of a concession for a company generating energy from offshore wind opens a new chapter in the history of the Polish energy sector. It is a milestone in the energy transformation process - said Renata Mroczek, Vice-President of URE.
