Over 44,000 Electricity Seller Changes in 2024
In 2024, a total of 44,405 customers switched their electricity sellers, marking a significant increase from the previous year. In the fourth quarter alone, 6,232 customers in tariff group G made the switch, while 1,951 changes were recorded among customers in tariff groups A, B, and C.
Among individual customers in tariff group G, the total number of supplier changes throughout 2024 reached 26,635 – a 50% increase from 17,780 in 2023. Meanwhile, nearly 18,000 business customers (tariff groups A, B, and C) changed suppliers, more than doubling the 8,042 recorded in 2023 – an impressive 121% year-on-year surge.
In total, over 44,000 customers switched sellers last year – a 72% increase compared to 2023, when nearly 26,000 made the change.

In the fourth quarter of last year alone, 6,232 customers in tariff group G switched their electricity seller – an increase of 14% compared to the third quarter of 2024. In contrast, seller changes among business customers in tariff groups A, B, and C totalled 1,951, reflecting a 27.6% decline from the previous quarter.
Over a Million Energy Seller Changes Since 2007.
Several key factors influence the decision to switch energy sellers, including customer awareness, motivation, the simplicity of the switching process, and the availability of competitive market offers.
Since 2007, when Poland introduced the option to change electricity sellers, over one million customers have taken advantage of this opportunity. Of these, 786,000 were household customers (tariff group G), while 256,000 were business customers in tariff groups A, B, and C.
