President of URE

Renata Mroczek holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Łódź and completed postgraduate studies in European Funds at the same university. She also completed postgraduate studies in management at the Poznań University of Economics. She is certified as an Integrated Management Systems Supervisor for quality, environmental and health and safety management systems. She is an expert in energy law and administrative procedure, including administrative liability for breaches of statutory obligations or licence terms and conditions.
After a stint in the banking sector, she spent over a decade in health care, most recently as deputy director of a multispecialty hospital, one of the largest facilities in Łódzkie Voivodeship, where she developed extensive competence in managing teams and complex organisational structures, as well as high-budget projects and processes.
She has been with URE since April 2017, initially serving as Director of the Central-Western Regional Office in Łódź – the largest field unit covering the Mazowieckie and Łódzkie Voivodeships. Her responsibilities spanned the heat and power sector (including energy storage and RES) and gaseous and liquid fuels. As deputy chair of the District Heating Team, she played an active role in developing solutions to support investment and the sector’s transformation, including a new regulatory model.
In October 2024, following an open competition, she was appointed Vice President of URE.
Her appointment as President of URE by the Prime Minister Donald Tusk on 11 August 2025 followed an open and competitive recruitment process. She is the first woman to serve as the Polish Regulator of energy and fuel markets.
As the initiator of numerous activities to develop the energy sector and a promoter of collaboration across traditional divides, she launched the Cross-Sectoral Accelerator for the Development of the Polish Energy Sector.
She is a winner of the Women’s Energy Award in the Development Energy category. She has been implementing numerous digitalisation initiatives within the organisation. In working with people, she is committed to dialogue, partnership-building and the power of relationships.
