Tariff Department

The Tariff Department is responsible for considering applications presented by energy enterprises for tariff approval for gaseous fuels and electricity as well as preparing Project of such decisions. The Department controls also the correctness of applying such tariffs by energy enterprises.

The Department considers also dispute cases between energy enterprises, which are connected with applying approved tariffs for electricity and gaseous fuels by the President.

One of the main tasks of the Tariff Department is establishing methods to control energy enterprises efficiency and preparing projects to improve their efficiency.

The key tasks of this Department include as well drawing up methods for comparative analyses and financial projection for the needs of enterprise regulations, which deal with transmission or distribution of gaseous fuels and electricity.

TD monitors the fulfilment of duties by the energy enterprise, connected with keeping accounting records and making financial statements available to the ERO.

Moreover, TD defines economic and technical criteria for the conditions to connect to the energy and gas networks as well as criteria for estimating the repairs of these networks.

The task of the Department is also the verification of information concerning obligatory quantities of gaseous fuel reserves, presented by companies conducting activities in scope of natural gas trading from abroad or entities importing natural gas from abroad as well as determining, through decision, the quantity of obligatory reserves of natural gas.

TD realizes as well the duties resulting from the regulations of the ordinance of the European Parliament and Council concerning the conditions for access to the network with reference to trans-border exchange of energy as well as realization of duties concerning the conditions for access to natural gas transmission network.
