The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER)

CEER - The Council of European Energy Regulators is an independent, voluntary association of energy regulators from the EU member states.

CEER was established in 2000 under the "Memorandum of Understanding” signed by national energy regulatory authorities. In 2002 became a not-for-profit association under Belgian law and to set up a secretariat in Brussels.

Brussels has been chosen as  the headquarters of the  CEER Secretariat to enable cooperation with the EU institutions and other stakeholders.
The key CEER tasks include facilitating the creation of a single and competitive internal energy market in Europe. The Council is a platform where the European regulatory bodies can cooperate, exchange information and share their best practices.

In the field of EU energy policy issues CEER works very closely with the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), an official EU agency to ensure efficient cooperation between the National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs).
