The main objectives of two days CEER GA meeting were: smart grids, protect consumer' interests, facility in creation of a single, competitive and sustainable internal market for gas and electricity in Europe.
The CEER GA meeting also updated the working plan for the European Commission Smart Grids Task Force and Expert Groups. The EU smart grids advisory body had three meetings from November 2009.
General Assembly also focused on process of appointment of Board of Regulators Chair and BoR Vice Chair in the new and significant UE institution on energy regulation - EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators - ACER.
The Agency, which will be located in Ljubljana, Slovenia, will coordinate the work of national regulatory authorities when it comes to cross-border gas and electricity networks and will become operational on 3 March 2011.
It will be able to take binding decisions on cross-border infrastructure and negotiates energy issues from the European level.
During CEER GA meeting ACER 2011 Working Plan was presented, and participants discussed the update 3 - year ACER work plan on framework guidelines.
The CEER General Assembly approved status of preparation for the EU - USA energy round - table which will be held on April 2010 in Berlin. The ERO Vice President, Mr. Marek Woszczyk, representing also the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA), will participate in this prestigious meeting.
