Polish regulator in ERRA authorities
General Assembly of ERRA gathered today in Warsaw, after finishing the conference concerning ‘Investment and regulation in power industry’ and introduced changes to the authority. Dr Mariusz Swora, the ERO President entered the board of the Association presidium.
Entering the presidium of international regulators association ERRA is an honor for me, but also a great commitment - said Mariusz Swora just after voting. - My activities will concentrate on the problems of energy market liberalization and energy security of the region. In the opinion of the Regulator, ERRA has an important role to play in building bridges between countries of East and West Europe as well as Asia, and the Polish body responsible for energy market regulation can bring much to the activities of the Association. - We have unique know-how necessary for countries of our region to develop systems of smart metering of the network, well-advanced research in the scope of fighting energy poverty and well established regulatory patterns in many other fields. We will share our experience with ERRA, but we will also take advantage of the knowledge acquired by other members of the Association. - points out the ERO President.
Summing up the Warsaw conference, the ERO President concluded: The ERRA Conference ‘Investment and regulation in power industry’ was a good promotion of Poland and Polish regulatory system. We exchanged experience with other countries concerning conducting regulatory policy in crisis conditions. During the conference important declarations by Azerbaijan were also placed, concerning the readiness to deliver gas for the needs of the Nabucco pipeline.
Presidium is the body directly subordinated to the General Assembly of ERRA. It consists of 7 members chosen for a two year term (with the possibility of re-election). The Presidium is in charge of representing and implementing, and the tasks include, for example, proposing solutions, which are within the scope of the Assembly, undertaking directional actions concerning the future shape of the Assembly and managing the budget of the organization. The meetings of the Presidium take place four to five times a year.
